We are...

Rhythmic gymnastics is a smaller branch of the overall worldwide umbrella of gymnastics. This discipline of the sport combines a variety of dance and acrobatic skills with the use of hand apparatus such as balls, hoops, ribbons, ropes, and clubs. All routines are set to music and the gymnasts perform routines individually or in groups, duets, trios, etc.  Our club is eight years old and has accomplished quite a bit over this time. We began with three girls in 2004 and have now grown to 55 registered members. Our club belongs to the Monmouth County 4-H, which is under the Rutgers Cooperative Extension. We also belong to and compete under the USAIGC system (United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs) and IAIGC (International Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs). Our gymnasts have competed in State, Regional, National, and International competitions, and our club is the largest rhythmic club in the state and the only 4-H based rhythmic gymnastics club in the United States. We have competed at eight USAIGC National Championships and plan on attending the USAIGC/IAIGC World Championships this coming summer. Twelve of our athletes belong to the USAIGC/IAIGC international team.
